Where is your office located?

My practice is fully virtual across the state of California.

Is virtual therapy secure?

Yes. Virtual therapy is designed to protect your privacy. The platform I use is HIPAA-compliant with encrypted video sessions and secure communication tools to keep your personal information confidential and protected.

What happens during the 15-minute consultation call?

The complimentary 15-minute consultation call is an opportunity for us to briefly connect, discuss what brings you to therapy, and determine whether we feel like the right match for one another.

Therapy works best when there is a strong connection between client and therapist. This call helps ensure that my approach, style, and area of expertise align with the support you’re looking for.

I’m new to therapy. What can I expect?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, the challenges you’re currently facing, your personal history, and what you hope to gain from the therapeutic process.

My goal is to help you feel comfortable, supported, and understood from the very beginning.

How long are therapy sessions?

Most individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. Sessions are structured to allow time for processing current stressors, exploring deeper emotional patterns, and working on practical tools and interventions that support growth.

How do I schedule my appointment? How often can we meet?

Scheduling with me is easy and can be done anytime, day or night, through my online scheduling system.

Once scheduled, you’ll receive confirmation details, intake paperwork, and instructions for accessing your virtual session. My goal is to make the process feel easy, convenient, and stress-free from the very beginning.

How do I pay you?

Payment is due 48 hours before your session. For convenience and ease, I currently accept payments through Venmo, Zelle, and Cash App.

Can you help me with my insurance benefits?

Yes. Please click this link to check your insurance benefits:

What is your cancellation policy? What happens if I forget to cancel?

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows me the opportunity to offer that session time to another client in need of support.

Appointments canceled with more than 24 hours’ notice will be refunded to the original form of payment. If a session is canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, the session payment is nonrefundable. Unexpected situations happen, and I appreciate your understanding and respect for my time and scheduling policies.

Is therapy worth it?

Many people hesitate when it comes to investing in therapy because of the financial commitment, which is completely understandable.

But the reality is people regularly spend money on dining out, shopping, entertainment, beauty services, subscriptions, or “temporary” escapes from stress while continuing to emotionally struggle underneath it all.

Therapy is an investment in the one thing you carry every single day: yourself. Your mental health impacts your relationships, parenting, confidence, emotional well-being, physical health, work performance, and overall quality of life. When anxiety, depression, or unresolved emotional pain goes untreated, it often continues affecting every area of life.

You deserve the same level of care and investment that you so easily give to other people and other parts of your life. Therapy isn’t just about feeling better temporarily. It’s about building a healthier, more emotionally grounded version of yourself for the long term.

Will therapy just be talking about my problems?

Therapy goes beyond simply talking. While processing emotions and experiences is important, sessions also focus on practical tools, coping strategies, emotional regulation, self-awareness, and identifying deeper patterns contributing to anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties.

Does anyone cry in front of you?

All the time, and honestly, that’s completely okay. There’s no judgment here.

Crying is not a sign of weakness or that something is wrong with you. It’s a natural and healthy human response to feeling hurt, stressed, joyful, or deeply emotional.

Sometimes people spend so much time holding everything in that therapy becomes the first place they finally feel free enough to let it out. Crying is often a sign that your mind and body are finally allowing themselves to breathe a little.

Do I have to tell you everything?

Absolutely not. Therapy isn’t about forcing you to share things before you’re ready.

Trust takes time, and part of my job is creating a space where you feel comfortable enough to open up at your own pace.

Ironically, many clients eventually find themselves talking about things they once swore they would “never tell anyone,” simply because they finally feel emotionally supported and not judged. Therapy is a process, not an interrogation.

What if I’m awkward?

Then you’ll fit right in with the rest of humanity. Therapy isn’t about saying the “right” thing. It’s about being real.

Do you understand teen slang?

I do my best, but I may occasionally need a translation.

What if my teen says “I don’t need therapy”?

This is actually pretty common.

Many teens are hesitant at first, especially if therapy wasn’t their idea.

Often, the biggest shift happens once they realize therapy is a space where they can talk openly without constantly feeling judged or lectured.

Can parents be involved in teen therapy?

Yes, while also respecting the teen’s privacy and trust. Parent involvement can be incredibly important, and I work to create a space where teens feel comfortable opening up. I provide general updates, guidance, and support to parents while still encouraging teens to have their own space to process emotions honestly.

With that being said, if there are concerns related to safety, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, dangerous behaviors, abuse, or anything that places the teen or someone else at risk, parents will absolutely be informed. Safety will always be my top priority.

How many sessions does it take to “fix me”?

First, let me tell you: you were never broken in the first place.

Therapy isn’t about “fixing” who you are. It’s about helping you understand yourself better, releasing unhealthy patterns, and learning healthier ways to cope, connect, and move through life.

The number of sessions looks different for everyone. Some clients come with a specific goal, while others want deeper long-term support. Either way, therapy is a process, not a quick fix. Real growth tends to happen one honest conversation at a time.

Coffee, tea, or energy drinks?

Definitely coffee.

What brand of tissues do you offer?

Technically none, because I’m a virtual therapist, so you are responsible for your own emotional support tissues. But if we’re talking recommendations, I am definitely team Puffs.

They’re soft, gentle on that face, and much more supportive during those “ugly cry” moments therapy can sometimes bring out. Your nose deserves kindness too.

Do I have to get dressed up?

Messy buns, no make-up, sweatpants all highly encouraged. Therapy is a judgment-free zone, not a fashion show.

What do you do when emotions are off the chart?

Therapists are human too, which means I absolutely have moments where I feel drained or just need to reset.

When that happens, my go-to’s are going outside for fresh air, taking a nice aromatherapy shower, watching meaningless TV that makes me laugh, and listening to music.

What apps make your life better?

I honestly love the Bible App for daily encouragement, perspective, and moments where I need to slow down and reconnect. I also enjoy Instagram because it can be creative, inspiring, funny, and a way to feel connected.
